DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages the marketing, illustrator, sponsorship, special events, and publicity functions and provides quality control/review on all products and functions to ensure they are carried out properly. Serves as the special events and commercial sponsorship coordinator/organizer. Serves as the point of contact for all unsolicited and solicited commercial sponsorship ventures for Force Support Squadron. Creates awareness and support of the commercial sponsorship program with Force Support squadron commander/deputy, flight chiefs, and activity managers. Monitors and coordinates all phases of sponsored events and programs, and issues follow-up reports to the appropriate authority. Creates and recommends promotional programs to increase sales in revenue-generating activities. Maintains contact with outside organizations and individual businesses within the community for the purpose of promoting special events for Force Support activities. Assists managers with marketing plans as well as promoting and producing special functions and events. Provides written correspondence to off-base activities and after action reports to managers. Provides advertising media and implements promotional programs for Services' activities. Solicits information from activity managers in order to publicize recurring activities, programs, special events, and promotions. Develops promotional themes based on customer and potential customer demographics. Provides public affairs and public relations services for the Force Support Squadron with other base agencies. Represents and briefs about Force Support activities at such functions as Commander’s Calls, Newcomer’s Orientation, etc. Maintains contacts with outside organizations within the community for the purpose of exchanging information and working in programs of mutual interest. Develops annual budget and resource requirements to meet program objectives. Submits annual budget/resource requirements to reflect realistic needs and operating costs of the marketing department. Monitors monthly expenditures with regard to budgeted goals. Performs supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities and deadlines. Assures that mission and accuracy requirements are met; selects employees; hears and resolves grievances and complaints; initiates corrective and/or adverse action for performance or conduct; schedules and grants leave; identifies training needs. Appraises performance with established guidelines. Provides appropriate recognition and feedback for employee performance. Periodically reviews organization structures to ensure position guides are accurate. Ensures education in and compliance with security and safety directives. QUALIFICATIONS: Progressively responsible experience which provides a general knowledge of management principles and practices. Experience may have been gained in an operations, administrative or managerial position, which included responsibility for various phases of operations, such as snack bar management, facility/equipment management. Specialized experience in a bowling facility which provides basic knowledge of bowling programs, procedures, and rules, and which provided an in-depth knowledge of the operations of at least one of the functions of a bowling facility. This experience must include responsibility or supervision over at least one of the various phases of a bowling center operation. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
